Sunday, August 30 from 9:00-12:30 p.m. at Abiding Presence

At Abiding Presence, our 10th-12th graders play an important role in our children’s ministry by serving as elementary Sunday School teachers. Our training event is open to youth (with a chaperone) from partner churches who are interested in preparing youth to be involved in their children’s ministry.

Youth will rotate in small groups to the following workshops:

• Boundaries 101 - Learn how to set healthy classroom boundaries that will allow kids to thrive when you are teaching.

• Working with Neurodiverse Kids - Let’s embody our theology of "All are Welcome" in practical ways so that every kid feels like they belong.

• Small Talk with Kids 101 - Making small talk with kids doesn't always feel natural. Get some ticks, tricks and practice with real kids. We'll talk about what's appropriate (and not appropriate) when talking with kids.

9:00-10:00 a.m. - Worship at Abiding Presence (optional)

10:00-10:30 a.m. - Welcome, Small Group Introductions & Opening

10:30-11:00 a.m. - Workshop 1

11:00-11:30 a.m. - Workshop 2

11:30-12:00 noon - Workshop 3

12:00-12:30 p.m. - Pizza Lunch and Debrief

Cost

Cost is FREE for Abiding Presence Abiding Fellows. Cost for youth and adults from partner churches is $5/person to help cover the cost of pizza and supplies. RSVP to Pastor Keseley at pastorkeseley@abidingpresence.net.
