Do you have a loved one or close family member who is struggling with addiction or mental illness? These diseases of mind and body take an enormous toll - not only on the affected individual, but also on their families. This group will provide peer support as we navigate these relationships.

“One Body” is the new teen (6th-12th grade) small group Sunday School class we are launching designed to support neurodiverse teens who are impacted verbally. Led by Nicole Z, a FCPS Special Education teacher and parent of a neurodiverse young adult, this class will offer socialization with neurotypical peers as well as lessons and activities that make sense to the group. Teens will explore how they can use their gifts to serve in worship, help with the food pantry and in other ministry areas. Want to sign up? Amazing Race DAY 7th-12th grade
April 10, 9:00a.m.-4:00p.m.
We're bringing the Amazing Race Camp we all know and love to the school year! On select days that FCPS has off of school, Pastor Kelsey and our youth will head into DC for adventures in service, learning, teamwork and exploring! Just like over the summer, students will meet Pastor Kelsey at the Franconia Springfield Metro at 9:00a.m. and return as close to 4:00p.m. as possible. Students will need to carry their own metro card and their packed lunch. Everyone will be on a team that figures out clues, navigates to destinations, and looks at a bible story together. Parent chaperones will be needed to make this a success. Registration is below.

Students of all ages are invited to join Ms. Michaela and participate in a service project for the Abiding Presence Food Pantry. On the Thursday before every Abiding Presence Food Pantry, you can come learn about how the food pantry operates, help pray over the produce and the people who are coming, and learn about service as a spiritual discipline.

Burke Lake Park Amphitheater

Early Easter Sunday morning, we will gather in the Burke Lake Park Amphitheater for a sunrise service. This is a family friendly service where children of all ages are welcome. Dress is casual. We will proclaim, “Christ is risen,” as the sun rises over the lake. Following the service, there will be coffee and donuts.

Friday April 3rd 7:00-10:00p.m.

All 7th-12th graders are invited to join us on Good Friday for a mini lock in. Attend worship at 7:00 p.m., eat pizza dinner together, do a Stations of the Cross Workshop and play a game! This event serves at the Confirmation Clergy Group for April Confirmands should sign up in the Confirmation Sign Up Genius. All other students just show up!. Questions? Our 30-minute children’s service offers the story of Jesus’ crucifixion in an age appropriate and interactive way. Through dialogue with puppets, scripture, prayers, music and more, we will worship together.

We will be hosting a Pizza Dinner for families to gather together prior to the service. Join us for a time of faith and fellowship as we bring our Lenten journey to a close.

On this night, we remember Jesus' Last Supper with his disciples before he was handed over to death. We hear the command to love one another. Maundy Thursday begins a time we call The Great Three Days. This service will feature special music composed by Dr. David Chavez, in celebration of his 10th anniversary at Abiding Presence.

This group is for families who have members whose brains  navigate the world a little differently. We walk with each other in navigating the joys and challenges of supporting our loved ones (and, sometimes ourselves) with diagnoses that include ADHD, autism, dyslexia and other disabilities. We also support the church in continuing to be a welcoming community to neurodiverse families.
