Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. from September to May. The choir sings music from all eras from Renaissance to contemporary. They use varied instrumentation and, as worship leaders during the Sunday morning traditional service, encourage congregational participation. If you love to sing, this is a great way to be involved!
Abiding Presence Orchestra
Our Abiding Presence Orchestra gathers as needed for a variety of different worship services, sometimes supplementing the band, and sometimes accompanying the choir or playing on its own for events.
The praise band is made up of vocalists, guitars, keyboards, percussion, and a variety of other instruments. The band leads the music at our Sunday morning praise service. High Schoolers and adults are invited to be part of the band, which normally rehearses on Saturday afternoons.
All children's choirs consist of age-appropriate activities, singing songs and playing instruments to lift praises to the Lord! The choir groups give children the opportunity to socialize with their friends and have fun singing, signing and dancing! The children learn songs with the aid of CDs and the piano. Those who are readers and learning to read will be introduced to written music. Sign language and movement help in learning the songs and enhances the presentation of the songs. Instruments help teach rhythm while having fun making a joyful noise!
Abiding Presence Brass
Trumpets and horns have long been called upon to praise God. At Abiding Presence, we've been praising God with all sorts of horns for as long as the church has been around! Come join us.
Bring your French horn, euphonium, trombone, tuba, trumpet—any brass instrument is welcome. Our group is targeted for adults and high school youth. For you adults out there, we know you have an old horn tucked away in a closet somewhere. Well... get it out and oil it up! Contact Mike Dyson through the church office if interested.
Our Youth Band is open to 6th-12th grade students of any instrument or voice type, and no prior experience is required. We rehearse on Wednesdays 5-6pm, and help lead worship regularly! Our Youth Choir is likewise open to any 6th-12th grader, and rehearses on selected Sundays at about 12:00 noon (right after our second Sunday worship service). Click here for more information, including upcoming schedule and music!
The Hallelujah Ringers are an intergenerational handbell group, normally rehearsing Wednesdays at 6:45 p.m. during the school year. The ensemble is open to all adults and high/middle school students. No experience or prior music-reading ability necessary! We ring during worship services and special events about 2-3 times per quarter.
