Easter Sunrise Service

Sunday, April 5 at 6:15 a.m.
Burke Lake Park Amphitheater

Early Easter Sunday morning, we will gather in the Burke Lake Park Amphitheater for a sunrise service.

Sunrise Service @ 6:15 a.m. at Burke Lake Park Amphitheater

We are so excited about this new Easter service! Think about making it a new part of your Easter tradition. Spread the word about it! It's a great low-key service for friends and neighbors.

When you arrive at Burke Lake Park, follow the park signs to the amphitheater. We'll be easy to spot with our 13-ft flags. There is ample parking, including handicapped spots. There are no steps to the amphitheater, but there are a few tree roots to navigate. We will have volunteers ready to help anyone who needs it.

It will still be dark when you arrive. We will have people with flashlights to help guide you to your seat. (Willing to help? Simply show up early with a flashlight!)

Casual dress is encouraged. Coffee mugs are welcome. Looking for another opportunity to wear your Abiding Presence pajamas or hoodie? This would be a great time! If it is cold, bring a blanket. We will be sitting on benches. You can bring a stadium seat or towel to put down on the bench.

The service will include acoustic music, scripture, prayers, a sermon and Holy Communion. While the sunrise service will be similar to what we do at our Abiding Presence services later in the morning, it will be different enough that you can come to both and get something different out of each experience. We will have activities bags for kids with special sunrise Easter surprises.

But what about my annual Easter photo by the flower cross? Oh, we've got you covered! The flower cross will be at Burke Lake Park, ready to be decorated. You can still bring your flowers to put in it. By the end of the service, it will be decorated and ready for pictures. We've found the perfect place for it with the lake in the background. We're talking about a great photo opportunity!

Following the service there will be coffee, hot chocolate and donuts. Plan to stick around, take some pictures and enjoy the lake.

Please note that the closest bathrooms to the amphitheater are over by mini golf, which is a bit of a walk.

Looking for our usual festival services at Abiding Presence? We have those, too! AbidingPresence.net/easter.
