Dog Supply Drive
Supply Collection for Dog Shelters - Beginning January 24
Kevin Glass, one of our Abiding Fellows, is collecting supplies for dog shelters as his Abiding Fellows project. It would be great to have lots of our Abiding Youth families support Kevin's project. Here's a blurb from Kevin describing his project.
Collection for Rescue Puppies
My name is Kevin Glass, my family and I have been fostering puppies with A Forever Home (AFH) for over four years. Many of the puppies and adult dogs who are adopted through AFH come to us from rural rescue organizations in the south. The puppies often are abandoned on the side of a road with no one to help them. The adult dogs come from abusive or neglectful situations or have been used as bait dogs in fighting pits. This project will benefit the rural rescues that we work with, specifically in rural Mississippi, north central Louisiana, north west Louisiana, and east Texas. Our rescue partners drive through the night to bring these dogs to northern Virginia, usually about twice a month. Since the pandemic began, we’ve had about 100 dogs a MONTH come through AFH to be adopted into loving homes. Everyone wants puppies now and we’re glad they can have safe homes!
The things our rescue partners are most in need of are: Small, Medium and Large dog collars, Dry dog food, Puppy pads, Dog toys and chews, Bleach for cleaning kennels
We will be collecting these from Jan 24 th through Feb 14 th . You can place them in the bin inside the shed to the left of the main church entrance, or at the drive through event scheduled for Feb 14.
Thank you for helping us help the puppies!
