Children’s Ministry
Children’s Ministry is for kids ages 3 through 6th grade and their families. For children younger than age 3, check out our Babies & Toddlers Ministry. We welcome children at each age and stage of their growing up to learn about God’s love for them and feel like they matter in our church community. When we say, “All are Welcome” we mean all. Our Neurodiversity Ministry is one of the many ways we live into this welcome. Michaela, our Children & Family Minister, is always willing to talk with families about how their children can feel at home at Abiding Presence.
ELEMENTARY SUNDAY SCHOOL

We cannot wait to continue Sunday School through November and December telling the Christmas Story. This year we are going to journey from Nazareth to Bethelem and beyond as we tell the Christmas Story. This session will conclude with our annual Christmas Pageant on Sunday, December 13 at both services (9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.).

At Abiding Presence, our Sunday morning faith formation follows a workshop model. Kids get to pick an age-appropriate workshop to engage in for the six week session. Registration is LIVE! While pre-registration isn’t required, it helps us out with planning and means you can jump right into the fun when you arrive. 6th Grade is an important year for students at Abiding Presence and we are taking advantage of every moment. From Sunday morning to Wednesday night, we are building life-long friendships, having fun, and growing our faith.

PRESCHOOL SUNDAY SCHOOL

This fall, Ms. Lori, Ms. Christina and Ms. Leslie are ready to teach our youngest and brightest in our Preschool Workshop. The class will take place indoors in Classroom 9. All children who turned three prior to September 30, 2026 through pre-K are invited to participate. We can’t wait to learn about Jesus through Bible stories, activities, and play. Abiding Kids Club
(Preschool · Kindergarten-2nd Grade · 3rd-5th Grade)
Tuesdays from 5:30-7:00 p.m.

We are excited to be expanding our weekday kids ministry programming this fall. Welcome to the Abiding Kids Club! Ms. Michaela, Dr. Dave and Ms. Nicole are exited to gather on Tuesdays from 5:30-7:00 p.m. with our preschool and elementary friends. This will be a time to create music, grow faith and share dinner together. The doors are open and all are welcome.
Every Tuesday, our Abiding Kids will break into three groups: Preschool, K-2nd grade, and 3rd-5th grade. In these groups, they will get to rotate through three 30-minute stations:
Music with Dr. Dave and Ms. Nicole
Pizza Dinner with the Leadership Academy. There is a donation of $5/child for our pizza dinner. You can pay weekly or for the semester below.

Thanksgiving Eve Kids Choir

For over 30 years, the congregations of Abiding Presence Lutheran Church and Temple B’nai Shalom have come together to worship on Thanksgiving Eve. We are enthusiastically inviting our Preschool through 6th Grade kids to join our Thanksgiving Eve Joint Kids Choir and sing with kids from Temple B’nai Shalom. Our Abiding Kids Club will be learning the songs throughout November!

KIDS FOOD PANTRY
Thursdays before the Food Pantry
from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Bailey Hall
Students of all ages are invited to join Ms. Michaela and participate in a service project for the Abiding Presence Food Pantry. On the Thursday before every Abiding Presence Food Pantry, you can come learn about how the food pantry operates, help pray over the produce and the people who are coming, and learn about service as a spiritual discipline. If you have questions or need any accommodations, please reach out to our Children & Family Minister, Michaela Silvis.
Please NOTE:
A parent or guardian must accompany all students and grownups are allowed to volunteer only with a child (this is primarily a service opportunity for kids/teens).
