You’re Welcome: Paige's Abiding Story
After moving to Northern Virginia a little over 3 years ago, Paige began looking for a church to attend with her daughter. She was particularly looking for a church with a separate service for kids and, after attending worship at Abiding Presence, didn’t think it would suit their needs. So she visited several other places of worship but none of them felt like the right fit. Still in search of a church home, she came back to Abiding Presence and has been worshiping here ever since.
“After visiting a few times, I felt it was the welcoming place we needed and I felt God’s spirit,” Paige recalled. “My daughter was baptized here early in the summer and it was very special and meaningful that she was old enough to know what it all meant,” Paige shared. Looking ahead as her daughter grows, she wants a place for her to be herself and grow into her faith. “I am impressed by the intentionality of the children’s ministry and how important a child’s faith development is in this community,” she shared. “The church does a wonderful job of truly being welcoming which takes a lot of stress off of me,” she said. “The worship service is accessible enough that she always gets something out of it and we talk every week about what she heard in that week’s message,” Paige shared.
“Abiding Presence is a welcoming, nurturing community to grow my faith, my daughter’s faith and to grow relationships with others through a spirit of openness, welcomeness and love and you just can’t fake that,” Paige said. “It’s organic and the church does a wonderful job of living that out,” she shared.
