A moment to pause

Hello, 7-12th grade families,

I hope you all are doing well. I want us all to take a moment to pause as we begin to enter another new season in the Church calendar. It feels like every other day marks the beginning of some new chapter of something, and with so many things happening, it feels like we never get the opportunity to stop and look back on everything that has happened. So I would like to do that now, and I hope you all would too.

As we get ready to head into Lent, I wanted first to give some space and time to pause and reflect on where we have been and where we are going.

As a Church, we have all learned to be flexible and resilient. As a congregation, we have learned how to stay connected when the convince of a building and casual run in’s aren’t there. The Church has had its growing pains during this online transition, but we made it work because of your support and love for the Church.

As individuals, we learned how to make turn our homes into offices and schools overnight. We have done a lot that is really hard and at times really annoying, but I think there are a lot of joyful things that have happened too. We have connected with people who normally would not have, we have all had to teach at least one person how to unmute on zoom, and we have grown in ways we never imagined. We have all been doing an amazing job being parents, students, spouses, siblings, children, etc., and I want you to know that I see you all and am so amazed at what we have accomplished.

Let’s sit in that, let’s reflect on all the growth and change we have experienced. The time to fast and lament is coming, so for now, let’s pause what we are doing and list a couple of ways we have grown, joyful things that have happened, and lessons we have learned.

-Sincerely, Mr.Jon
