It’s Daylight Saving Time, so we lose an hour of sleep. Skip the getting ready, roll out of bed and come to church. We will have breakfast bars and coffee for you to grab as come in the door to worship.
Wednesday, March 5

6:30 p.m. Service
Our interactive, children's service invites kids to worship with their whole body. Geared toward preschool and elementary school age families, this 30-minute service is a way for kids to embark on the Lenten journey. We will offer ashes to those who want them and celebrate Holy Communion. There will be prayers, music, scripture and the chance to learn what Ash Wednesday is all about in age-appropriate ways.
This year we will be hosting a Pizza Dinner for families to gather together prior to the service. Join us for a time of faith and fellowship as we prepare ourselves for the season of Lent.

December 24 at 4:00 p.m.
This service is geared specifically for young children (birth through early elementary school) and their families, but as with all of our services, everyone is welcome to attend. There will be Holy Communion and a dramatic retelling of the Christmas story in place of a sermon. Children will receive a glow wand that they can use during the candle lighting.
Sunday December 15 at 9:00 a.m.
All of our Sunday School groups from infants/toddlers up through 6th grade will have parts in our Christmas Pageant that will happen during worship. Watch the Christmas story come alive through the children of Abiding Presence.
Wednesday, November 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Abiding Presence
Abiding Presence and Temple B’nai Shalom share a more than 30 year tradition of worshiping together on Thanksgiving Eve. This year’s service is at Abiding Presence and will feature a combined adult choir, children’s choir and orchestra. Rabbi Widzer will preach. A reception will follow the service. All are welcome to join us to give thanks for all God’s blessings.

On the eve of the election, we will gather for a service of Holden Evening Prayer which will include an extended time of prayer for our nation and the world. Together, we will pray for healing, justice, peace and hope for all of God’s creation.

A favorite service of the year! Join us for our annual Christmas in July worship service where we sing Christmas carols, hear the Christmas story and remember that the “good news of great joy” of Jesus’ birth isn’t reserved for just one time of year.

The outdoor worship service is a favorite Abiding Presence summer tradition. We’ll worship outside together. Bring a lawn chair, blanket and/or popup tent, if you have one. We will have plenty of chairs and tents up as well. Worship will be casual, festive and allow us to praise God for God’s creation. Following the service, we will have an epic bagel bar with all the toppings. The church will provide the bagels and beverages. We will invite you to sign up to bring a topping or use your creativity to bring something to share you think would taste great on a bagel. Sign up to help with set up and clean up.

We begin our lenten journey on Ash Wednesday with services of confession, the imposition of ashes and Holy Communion.
Our Children’s Service is a half hour worship services geared toward preschool and elementary school age children and their families. It includes the usual aspects of Ash Wednesday worship such as confession, imposition of ashes and Holy Communion in an age appropriate way. There is music, puppets and the opportunity for children to worship with their whole bodies. Prior to the service, a pizza dinner will be served in Bailey Hall at 5:45 p.m.

It’s an annual Abiding Presence tradition and the official kick-off of the holiday season at Abiding Presence! This favorite service is filled with jazz, scripture, prayer and Holy Communion. Abiding Presence member Craig Fraedrich (craigfraedrichmusic.com) and friends come together to lead the service. Following the service, we’ll have a dessert reception and the chance to gather with friends old and new. Before, after and during Advent Jazz Vespers as well as on Sunday morning, Fair Trade Winds will have a popup display in the church narthex.

For over 30 years, the congregations of Abiding Presence Lutheran Church and Temple B’nai Shalom have come together to worship on Thanksgiving Eve. This long tradition reflects the close relationship our two congregations have shared over the years, including 10 years of sharing worship space. This year, we will worship together at Temple B’nai Shalom with Pastor Keseley, Senior Pastor, preaching. The service will feature a combined adult choir, children’s choir and brass ensemble. Following the service, there will be a reception.

On All Saints Sunday, we give thanks for the great cloud of witnesses that surround us here on earth and in heaven. During worship, we will begin the service by reading the names of those who have been baptized in our community the past year as we celebrate their presence with us as God’s living saints. Later in the service, we will read the names of those who have died since the last All Saints Sunday, trusting in their presence with us in the great cloud of witnesses in heaven. There will be a visual depiction at the altar of the saints who surround us in the great cloud of witnesses. To submit a name to be read or a picture for the display, click here.
