Abiding Presence

Vision Forge

an intentional vocational discernment cohort for College-Age students

Launching Summer 2024

The Abiding Presence Vision Forge is a vocational discernment cohort that will run parallel to our Summer 2024 College-Age Internship program. Vision Forge participants will spend the summer in intentional discernment on who God is calling them to be out into the world. Participants will explore roles in pastoral leadership, daily devotional planning, and work toward discerning their most faithful next steps. The program will include book end retreats, weekly check-ins with a pastor or mentor, and a summer long “Life Dream” document. Participants will “forge” from the raw materials of their gifts and experiences, a vision for their futures and the future of the church. We recognize that College-Age students are making decisions about what they want their lives, the world, and the church to look like and this program is designed to walk alongs side them in that process. We ask that participants be willing to consider the outrageous idea that God could call them to live out their faith in public ways. Vision Forge participants are expected to be committed to Christ and Christ’s ministry in the world.

This new program is made possible by the generosity of the congregation and by a Discernment Lab Grant from the Forum for Theological Exploration. For more information about the Discernment Labs and FTE click here.

All applicants must also be participating in our Summer 2024 College-Age Internship Program. All retreat costs will be fully covered and participants who compete the program will receive an additional $300 stipend at the end of the summer.
