Partners in the Burke Community

Knowing that we can often make the biggest impact when we work together with others in our community, we partner with several local non-profits to reach out locally to people in need.

Ecumenical Community Helping Others (ECHO)Echo292.jpg

ECHO is a partnership between various religious congregations in Burke and Springfield to help people in need in our community by assisting those who suffer the effects of long-term poverty as well as people who are experiencing an emergency need. To learn more about ECHO, watch their video. Ways for people to serve include:

  • Donating non-perishable food, household goods, clothing, school supplies
  • Transporting donations from the church to ECHO
  • Participating in the Thanksgiving Basket ministry
  • Volunteering at ECHO
  • Serving on the ECHO Board of Directors

New Hope Housing

New Hope Housing provides homeless families and individuals shelter and the tools to build a better life. Ways for people to serve include:

  • Hosting a monthly "Game Night" at the Eleanor Kennedy Shelter
  • Donating gift cards to be used as prizes at game night

Carpenter's Shelter

The Carpenter's Shelter supports the homeless achieve sustainable independence through shelter, guidance, education and advocacy. Ways for people to serve include:

  • Provide food for the 5th Sunday of the month meal
  • Deliver and serve food at the shelter on the 5th Sunday of the month
